I. Workshop Rationale
“We want to hear the world says: “I want my country to be like Cambodia.”
Centuries ago, the Khmer civilization demonstrated extraordinary ingenuity through the construction of Angkor Wat, one of the world’s greatest engineering and architectural achievements, which continues to inspire the world today, reflecting the creativity, resilience, and capability of Cambodian people.
Today, Cambodia stands at another important moment in its history. With innovation through technology spirit, Cambodian engineers have been inspired and created homegrown technologies that address local needs while contributing solutions to regional and global challenges with the momentum: Made in Cambodia. Made for the World.
Around the world, countries are facing increasingly complex issues, including climate change, aging infrastructure, rising energy demand, digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and sustainable urban development. The challenges require innovative, practical, cost-effective, and locally relevant solutions.
With a growing community of engineers, researchers, and innovators, our country can be moved from technology adoption to technology creation that enables to create economic value and social impact. Unlocking this potential requires stronger collaboration among government, academia, and the private sector to build an ecosystem where ideas can be transformed into scalable innovative solutions.
This creative workshop will explore how Cambodian engineers are developing homegrown technologies that address real-world challenges in energy, smart cities, smart homes, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development. Discover how the three-pillar foster innovation, creativity, and technology development to transform Cambodia into the future of technology creation that creates national impact and compete on the global stage.
